Armor of God Prayer Builder
Most armor-of-God prayers online were written for somebody else's battle. This one is built for yours — the front you are actually losing ground on this week, the lie you keep agreeing with, the names you are standing in front of.
The armor of God is the six-piece protection Paul describes in Ephesians 6:10-18: truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation, and the Word of God. This free tool builds a first-person prayer from it — you name the attack you are actually under, assign each piece to the lie it counters, and print it.
Paul says stand. He does not say stand in general.
Ephesians 6:11 tells you to put on all of God's armor so you can stand firm against strategies — specific, targeted, personal. The enemy is not running a generic campaign against you. He is working one front, with one lie, at the hour you are weakest. A prayer that names none of that is a prayer that fights nobody. The Passage
Ephesians 6:10-18
Read it before you build. Paul wrote it from a prison cell, most likely looking at a Roman soldier, and every piece he names is defensive except one. Ephesians 6:10-18 (NLT)
- Belt of truth — the enemy's first move is a false report. Truth is what holds the rest of the kit together (v. 14).
- Body armor of God's righteousness — your chest is covered by Christ's record, not yours (v. 14).
- Shoes of the Good News of peace — you already have peace with God, so you carry it into the room instead of hunting for it there (v. 15).
- Shield of faith — it stops the fiery arrows before they land, which means it has to go up early (v. 16).
- Helmet of salvation — the mind is where the fight is decided at two in the morning (v. 17).
- Sword of the Spirit — the only offensive piece, and it is Scripture. Jesus used nothing else in the wilderness (v. 17).

What is the armor of God?
The armor of God is the six-piece equipment Paul describes in Ephesians 6:14-17: the belt of truth, the body armor of God's righteousness, shoes of the peace that comes from the Good News, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. It is not a metaphor for trying harder. Every piece is something God supplies and you put on.
How do you pray the armor of God over your family?
By name, and out loud. Generic prayer produces generic conviction. This builder takes your wife's name, each child's name, and the team or company you carry, and drops them into a 7-day rotation so that every day you pray the whole prayer and then hold the shield over one specific person. Ephesians 6:18 calls that being persistent, and persistence is a calendar, not a mood.
Is praying the armor of God biblical?
Ephesians 6:10-18 is a command to put the armor on, and verse 18 attaches prayer to it directly: pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Praying it back is not a formula or an incantation, and there is no magic in the wording. It is agreeing out loud with what God already said is true about your protection and then standing there.
What lie does each piece of the armor counter?
That depends on the front you are fighting on. The belt of truth cuts off the enemy's version of the facts. The body armor covers the chest of a man who thinks his standing depends on his record. The shoes carry peace into rooms where you would otherwise carry panic. The shield catches the arrow before it lands. The helmet guards the loop running in your head. The sword answers the lie with Scripture.
Is renouncing a lie the same as confessing sin?
They overlap, but renunciation is aimed at an agreement rather than an act. You are not groveling and you are not earning your way back into the family. You are a son telling the truth out loud so the lie stops operating in the dark. Shame drives you away from God; truth-telling walks you toward Him. If a step in this tool makes you want to hide, that is not the Holy Spirit.
