The Christian Leader Assessment

What Is a Christian Leader Assessment?

A Christian leader assessment is a self-evaluation tool that measures the dimensions of a man's life from a faith-centered perspective — not just his career performance. Most leadership assessments are designed for the marketplace. They measure influence, output, communication, decision-making. They miss the dimensions that matter most for a Christian man: spiritual depth, character, family leadership, brotherhood, integrity, and rest.

A Christian leader assessment includes those dimensions and weights them as foundational. The reason is simple. A man can score high on conventional leadership metrics while quietly failing in his marriage, his spiritual life, or his integrity. He can be promoted at work, respected in the community, admired on LinkedIn — and still be a man whose home is collapsing, whose prayer life is a memory, and whose secret patterns would shock the people he leads. The 10X Leader Score is built to surface that gap.

Why Christian Leaders Need a Different Assessment

The conventional leadership world has produced excellent assessments — DiSC, StrengthsFinder, the Enneagram, 360-degree reviews. Each measures something real. None of them measure the whole man God called you to be.

Scripture is clear that a man's leadership cannot be separated from the rest of his life. 1 Timothy 3:1-7 describes the qualifications for spiritual leadership in terms of character, family, sobriety, hospitality, and reputation — not output. Matthew 23:25-26 warns against being clean on the outside while filthy inside. A faith-centered leader has to assess himself by a different scoreboard. Public-facing performance is downstream of private faithfulness.

That is why the 10X Christian Leader Assessment exists. It rates the man, not the role. It measures what God measures, not what the conventional world measures. And it forces honesty in the dimensions most men prefer to leave un-examined.

The 10 Dimensions of the Christian Leader Assessment

The assessment scores ten dimensions, each on a 1-10 scale. The score adds to a 100-point total, and the breakdown produces a radar chart that shows your shape at a glance. Here is what each dimension measures.

  1. Faith & Spiritual Depth — Are you walking with God daily, or going through religious motions? Is prayer real or performative? Is the Bible shaping your decisions or sitting on a shelf?
  2. Marriage & Family — Are you leading at home before you lead anywhere else? Is your wife thriving under your leadership? Are your kids being shaped by your discipleship or by their phones?
  3. Physical Health & Energy — Are you stewarding the body God gave you? Do you have the energy to lead, or are you running on caffeine and willpower?
  4. Mental Discipline — Are you taking thoughts captive or being run by them? Are you in command of your attention, your media diet, your emotional regulation?
  5. Leadership & Influence — Are you leading the people God has entrusted to you with skill and conviction? Are you developing other men? Are you fearless under pressure?
  6. Purpose & Calling — Do you know what God has called you to in this season? Are you walking in it or drifting around the edges?
  7. Character & Integrity — Who are you when no one is watching? What are you hiding? Where is the gap between the man people see and the man you are?
  8. Financial Stewardship — Is your money building the kingdom or building your comfort? Are you generous, disciplined, and free from the love of money?
  9. Brotherhood & Community — Do you have men who actually know you? Or are you doing the Christian life alone, behind a polished exterior?
  10. Rest & Renewal — Are you taking the Sabbath God commanded? Or are you addicted to busyness as a substitute for significance?

You rate yourself 1-10 on each. Honest scoring beats spiritual scoring. The point is not to look good. The point is to see clearly.

How the Score Is Calculated

Your total Christian leader score is the sum of the 10 dimensions, out of 100. The score lands you in one of five categories:

  • Crisis Mode (0-30) — Multiple dimensions in serious trouble. Time for a hard reset, prayer, and someone in your corner.
  • Surviving (31-50) — Coasting, not thriving. You are functional but not flourishing.
  • Building (51-70) — Real work being done. Some dimensions strong, others still in development.
  • Thriving (71-85) — Healthy across most dimensions. Now the work is to deepen and to disciple.
  • On Mission (86-100) — Aligned, executing, multiplying. Few men land here. Those who do are usually shepherding others toward the same.

The score is not the goal. The clarity is the goal. A man who has never honestly assessed himself across these ten dimensions has been operating on incomplete data. The first time you take this assessment honestly, the radar chart will tell you something you already half-knew but never named. That naming is the beginning of the work.

What to Do With Your Score

Three actions, in order:

1. Identify Your Three Lowest Dimensions

Don't optimize what's already strong. The lowest dimension is your bottleneck. The 10XF Planner system has you set one focused goal in the lowest dimension for the next 90 days. Move that one needle, retake the assessment, and watch what happens to the others.

2. Bring It Into the Light

Show your radar chart to one trusted brother. Not your wife — a brother. The men who experience real change are the men who refuse to assess themselves alone. Build an accountability group if you don't have one yet.

3. Take the Deeper Assessments

The 10X Leader Score is the diagnostic. The 10X Life Plan system also includes 11 specialized assessments — Marriage Health, Spiritual Vitality, Identity in Christ, Burnout Risk, Father's Scorecard, and others — for the dimensions that need deeper investigation. Take the one that matches your lowest dimension first.

A Word on Honesty

The Christian leader assessment only works if you score honestly. The temptation is to rate yourself a little higher than the truth — because the truth would require something of you. Resist that. 2 Corinthians 13:5 tells you to examine yourself. Lamentations 3:40 says to test and examine our ways and turn back to the Lord. The whole posture of the Christian life is honest self-examination held inside the mercy of Christ. You are already loved. You are already forgiven. So you can afford to look at the truth.

Take the assessment. See the radar chart. Bring it to God. Bring it to a brother. Then do the work.
