Common Questions
What are identity declarations?
Identity declarations are first-person statements of who God says you are, each one anchored to a specific Bible verse and spoken out loud on a fixed rhythm. They are not goals and they are not wishes. They are agreements — you are saying out loud what God has already said about you, until your reflexes catch up with the truth. Ephesians 2:10 calls you God's masterpiece, created anew in Christ Jesus. A declaration puts that in your own mouth.
Are identity declarations the same as affirmations?
No. An affirmation is you telling yourself what you want to be true, generated by you and backed by nothing. A declaration is you agreeing out loud with what God has already said, backed by a verse you can open and read. That is the whole difference: source and authority. If a line on your card cannot be traced to Scripture, it is an affirmation, and affirmations do not hold under real pressure.
How many identity declarations should I have?
Seven, ten, or twelve. Seven gives you one for each day of the week. Ten is the standard 10XF card and the length used in the 10XF Planner. Twelve is for a hard season when several lies are firing at once. More than twelve and you stop speaking them and start skimming them. The number matters far less than whether you say them out loud every day.
Do I have to say them out loud?
Yes. Silent reading is thinking. Speaking is declaring. Your ears need to hear your own mouth agree with God, and your body needs to take a posture that matches what you claim to believe. Most men who quit this practice quit because they read the card silently for a week, felt nothing, and concluded it does not work. Stand up and say it.
