The first independent annual benchmark of how today's frontier AI models — Claude Opus 4.7, Claude Sonnet 4.6, GPT-5, Gemini 2.5 Pro, DeepSeek V3 — actually answer the questions Christian executives and marketplace leaders ask. 47 prompts. 5 models. 5-axis rubric. Cross-judge LLM-as-judge scoring with 93.1% inter-judge agreement.
Headline findings (v1.0, published 2026-05-22):
- Claude Opus 4.7 wins overall (11.30/15) and leads 4 of 5 axes — Theological Accuracy (2.67), Marketplace Wisdom (2.47), Identity (2.12), Lane Alignment (2.21).
- GPT-5 edges Opus on Scripture Fidelity (2.44 vs 2.29) and Marketplace Wisdom (2.60 vs 2.47) — best for tactical executive counsel.
- Identity-vs-Performance is the universal weakness. Every model scores lowest on this axis (Opus 2.12 → DeepSeek 1.12). AI treats identity-in-Christ as positive psychology, not as doctrine rooted in Christ's finished work.
- The Anthropic family dominates Lane Alignment (the masculine-heart-tradition test — Eldredge / Dangerous Men United / Identity Exchange) by 0.35+ over every non-Anthropic model.
- The Gospel Coalition's 2025 finding on DeepSeek does NOT replicate. They found DeepSeek R1 most Nicene-aligned on general doctrine; against the masculine-heart-tradition rubric, DeepSeek V3 ties Gemini for last (7.47 vs 7.23). Different rubrics surface different model strengths.
